Locust Pose -Shalabasana

Shalaba = Locust
Asana = Posture

How to do

– From belly down position, have feet hip distance apart, tops of the feet on floor
– Press into your pelvic triangle and lift arms, legs, chest and head off the floor
– Keep gaze down so neck is extension of spine


– Increases flexibility and strength of the entire back
– Strengthens shoulders and arms
– Tones the nerves and muscles especially in the neck and shoulders
– Massages and tones abdominal organs, and improves digestion


– Recent or chronic injury to back or abdomen
